Peter and Terry have trained and trialed retrieving bird dogs since the mid 70’s. Many of their dogs have been titled. The Martin’s still maintain a strong presence on the competition circuit.

KapRiver sells fully trained retrievers for both waterfowl and upland bird hunting. They are usually ready to go at 15 – 18 months of age. They do blind retrieves on both land and water and are trained to hunt out of a boat or in a blind.
If you consider the amount of time and money spent buying a pup and raising it, it becomes quickly evident that a started dog is the way to go. Remember that there is no guarantee that your pup will turn out to be a good retriever no matter how much effort you put into his training.
